Unit Project 2: How to make my fried rice
Fried rice is a Chinese dish that is commonly eaten in Japan. It is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. It is a dish made by frying rice and various ingredients in oil. I really enjoyed eating fried rice for lunch when I went skiing. The fried rice served there was very filling because it was served in large portions. The fried rice I make today is something my mother taught me when I asked her for something easy to make before I started living alone. It has become one of my favorite dishes that I often make at home because it is easy to make. I think most fried rice is made with pork belly. However, the fried rice I am going to make is very easy to make because it uses tuna. This is because I like tuna and I always have it at home.
You will need:
- Chopsticks
- Measuring spoon set
- Frying pan
- 2 bowls
Ingredients
- 200g of rice
- 1 tablespoon cooking’s sake
- 1 can simmered tuna
- 40 g small green onion, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon “Soumisyantan” (Chinese soup stock)
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Procedures
1. First, crack an egg into a bowl and beat it.
2. Second, add rice and cooking sake in a separate bowl, mix there.
3. Next, heat sesame oil in a frying pan over medium heat. When thoroughly warmed, add the rice mixture that has just been mixed. Then add tuna in water and mix. Then add green onions and mix.
4. After, When the rice becomes dry, add “Soumisyantan” (Chinese soup stock) and soy sauce.
5. Next, stir-fry over medium heat to combine.
6. When the flavors are well blended, pull the mixture to the edge and add one egg that has just been beaten and fry it.
7. When the eggs are half-cooked, add a pinch of salt and pepper and fry the whole mixture.
8. Lastly, when eggs are cooked, remove from heat and place on a plate.
This is how I make my fried rice. I think it would be delicious to replace the tuna with pork belly. Also, I like green onions, so I put a lot of them in, but I think it would still be delicious with fewer green onions. I like this fried rice because it’s easy to make and delicious. These days I am so busy with classes and part-time jobs that I don't have much time to cook. However, this dish is easy and fast to prepare and can be made at such times. I want to try making various kinds of fried rice in the future. I also want to be able to cook more than just fried rice.
